The Auxiliary encourages all interested individuals looking to explore or considering a career in firefighting to apply for membership in the Cambridge Auxiliary Fire Department. Many former Cambridge Auxiliary firefighters have gone on to become career firefighters and officers on the Cambridge Fire Department as well as in surrounding municipal fire departments. These positions are volunteer (non-paid) and on-call. The work may involve strenuous activity and heavy lifting and applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Please download the Application and fill it out. Please follow all directions on the application and submit it to the Cambridge Emergency Management Agency for review.
Applications will be reviewed with the Cambridge Fire Department Auxiliary Coordinator and an interview will be scheduled. Applicants with a favorable application and interview will be required to undergo a background check by the Cambridge Police Department.
